GOP feasting on chicken for 'Chick-fil-A Day'

Congressional Republicans are making their support of Chick-fil-A clear on Wednesday, a day fans of the chicken chain declared "Chick-fil-A Day" out of solidarity with owners' social conservatism.
Republicans, who have often served Chick-fil-A at lunches on Capitol Hill, made a point of eating chicken on Wednesday, including serving it at the weekly party lunch.

Funding for a new bridge over the Coosa River at Southside was not included in the recently passed federal highway bill, the Gadsden Etowah Metropolitan Planning Organization learned Thursday. The project now will have to compete with other Alabama bridge products for funding.
