WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04) released a statement calling for entries in the 2020 4th District Art Competition.

"I am pleased once again to be a sponsor of the United States Congressional Art Competition for high school students within the 4th District. This is an annual nationwide event that recognizes and encourages the artistic talent we have in our district. Students in grades 9-12 are encouraged to compete.

Today is a sad day for the United States. Our duly-elected President, Donald Trump, was impeached by House Democrats compelled by partisanship, not by facts. I was proud to stand with President Trump, joining my Republican colleagues and several Democrats to vote no.

Washington — Today, Congressman Robert Aderholt, (AL-04) released the following statement on his efforts to secure $102 million to assure clearing rape kit backlogs are made a priority in 2020 federal spending. The $102 million will go to the Debbie Smith DNA Backlog Grant program.

"There is an old legal saying – "justice delayed is justice denied." For thousands of victims of sexual assault across our country, including Alabama, justice has been delayed because of the wait time for DNA evidence to be examined.

Washington — Today, Congressman Robert Aderholt, (AL-04) released the following statement on his efforts to secure funding in the 2020 Federal Budget to continue to expand rural broadband access.

"Two years ago, I led the effort in Congress to create the ReConnect Program, which provides loans and grants to help expand broadband infrastructure to rural America. As a result, USDA is investing millions of dollars to improve internet connectivity in rural Alabama, bringing new economic development opportunities to our communities.

HAMILTON, Ala., Dec. 5, 2019 – Today, U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Deputy Under Secretary for Rural Development Donald "DJ" LaVoy announced USDA has invested $62.3 million in high-speed broadband infrastructure that will create or improve e-Connectivity for more than 8,000 rural households, 57 farms, 44 businesses, 17 educational facilities, 14 critical community facilities and three health care facilities in rural Alabama. This is one of many funding announcements in the first round of USDA's ReConnect Pilot Program investments.

Emergency Support to Producers in Surrounding Counties/Border State Also Available

WASHINGTON, Nov. 14, 2019 — Agriculture Secretary Sonny Perdue designated two Alabama counties as primary natural disaster areas. Producers in DeKalb and Marshall counties who suffered losses due to recent drought may be eligible for U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) emergency loans.
