Congressman Aderholt Announces Assistance to Local Firefighters

Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Robert Aderholt announced grants from the Department of Homeland Security's FY 2022 Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program. The Adamsburg Volunteer Fire Department on Lookout Mountain in Fort Payne and the Russellville Fire Department are the recipients of these two grants.
“I’m pleased to announce the two grants. The Adamsburg Volunteer Fire Department will receive $71,843.80. This money will be used to buy new technical rescue equipment and equipment to fight brush fires.
“Russellville will receive a grant of $362,857.14. The department will use this money to purchase a new mini pumper to replace a vehicle that has been in service since 1989.
“These funds were allocated in the Fiscal Year 2022 Department of Homeland Security budget, which I gladly supported with a yes vote. This type of funding has a direct impact on people in my district from helping to lower homeowner insurance costs, to most importantly, helping to save lives and property.”
