Young filers: Yes, if they are not a dependent, and have already filed for 2019 then IRS will have their information and be able to process them. If it is the second year they have filed then the IRS would be able to use their 2018 or 2019 filings to send them a rebate. If they are a dependent but have not filed for 2018 or 2019 the Secretary of the Treasury is tasked with a public awareness campaign that will provide information with regard to individuals who may not have filed a tax return for taxable year 2018 or 2019.

Where can I apply for the Paycheck Protection Program?
You can apply for the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) at any lending institution that is approved to participate in the program through the existing U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) 7(a) lending program and additional lenders approved by the Department of Treasury. This could be the bank you already use, or a nearby bank. There are thousands of banks that already participate in the SBA's lending programs, including numerous community banks.

Our country is going through the worst public health crisis since the flu pandemic of 1918. The Coronavirus impact is unprecedented, and as we navigate these unchartered waters it's critical that serious, thoughtful solutions are put forward. That is why I voted in favor of the Phase 3 stimulus package today, known as the CARES Act. Although this $2 trillion bill is not perfect, I believe it is necessary as it provides vital funding for Alabama and the entire nation.

Since first being elected to Congress, one of the greatest joys for me has been to personally give tours of the Capitol Building to the hundreds of people who visit our office each year. I make it a point, whenever possible, to take people into the House Chamber, so they can see their government at work. If constituents have traveled all the way to Washington, then they deserve to get a tour from their member of Congress.

Like most places today, the Coronavirus is dominating a lot of the talk on Capitol Hill. As it has become clear that China's efforts to contain the virus have failed, and there have now been deaths in the U.S., concern has grown about a possible outbreak here at home. We've seen that concern directly with what has happened on Wall Street with the markets.

With all this news, and the almost non-stop coverage in the media, it would be easy to become panicked. But instead of panic, it's better to be prepared and informed.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04) released a statement calling for entries in the 2020 4th District Art Competition.

"I am pleased once again to be a sponsor of the United States Congressional Art Competition for high school students within the 4th District. This is an annual nationwide event that recognizes and encourages the artistic talent we have in our district. Students in grades 9-12 are encouraged to compete.
