Congressman Aderholt Announces Grant for Marshall County Mobile Visitors Center
Washington, D.C. — Today, Congressman Robert Aderholt issued the following statement announcing a grant for $59,000 from the Appalachian Regional Commission to fund a mobile visitors center in Marshall County. The grant is being awarded to Marshall County Tourism and Sports, formerly known as the Marshall County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
“I’m excited to announce this grant to Marshall County Tourism and Sports. Marshall County has always been a tourist draw with Lake Guntersville and the surrounding area sometimes being called “The Playground of the South.” While it’s hard to believe, this area has become even more attractive thanks to the new Sand Mountain Park and Amphitheater in Albertville. This new mobile visitor center will allow even more people outside the area to know about this area of the 4th Congressional District. With the COVID-19 pandemic coming to an end, and a pent-up desire for travel, this investment will pay dividends to the local economy. I’m proud to advance this type funding in Congress.”
