Even by Washington’s standards, this past week was full of a lot of hot-topic headlines, including a sudden retirement, a Jobs Bill stalemate in the Senate and a Committee Chairmanship change in the House.
Perhaps the subject that Americans are discussing the most, however, is the President’s decision to ram through a health care reform package that Americans overwhelmingly disagree with by using a procedure called “reconciliation”.

This past week marked the beginning of the U.N.'s annual climate change summit in Copenhagen, Denmark. As we all react to another disappointing unemployment report from Friday, I can’t help but wonder if the President and Congress would’ve passed the stimulus if it knew then what we know now.
After all, the administration told us we needed to spend nearly $1 trillion for a stimulus bill that would create jobs “immediately” and keep unemployment below 8% nationally. That has not happened.
