Congressman Aderholt Announces Winner of Fourth Congressional District Digital App Challenge

WASHINGTON — Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04) released the following statement to announce the winner of the 2023 Fourth Congressional District Digital App Challenge. The App Challenge is a nationwide contest held in each Congressional District for high school students to develop their own smart phone applications.
“I’m proud to announce that Brilyn Hollyhand of Tuscaloosa has won this year’s Fourth District Digital App Challenge,” said Congressman Aderholt. “Brilyn’s app, called “Your Voice,” helps people quickly register to vote and helps them plan to vote. And it works for all 50 states!
“Just like our annual art competition recognizes and encourages students’ artistic talents on the canvas, the app challenge is focused on talents for the important and growing digital world. I think it’s great that Brilyn used his gifts and abilities to help people exercise one of their most important rights, the right to vote.”
Brilyn is a junior at Tuscaloosa Academy. He provided our office with this quote after learning he had won.
“I couldn’t be more excited to have my app win the 2023 Congressional App Challenge! My app was designed to help people register to vote, and with a major election coming up in just a few short months, it’s such an important time to be talking about this! I’ll be voting for the first-time next November, and I hope this encourages all of my generation to get out and vote!”
In the coming weeks, Congressman Aderholt will present Brilyn with a winning plaque sponsored by Nine Digital in Tuscaloosa.
