Congressman Aderholt Votes to Fund Government, Keep America on Stable Fiscal Path

March 11, 2025

Washington, D.C. – Today, Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04) voted in favor of a Continuing Resolution (CR) to fully fund the federal government for the remainder of Fiscal Year 2025, ensuring stability for American families, businesses, and national security.

“While this is not a perfect bill, it was necessary to keep the government functioning, ensure our military is fully funded, and provide certainty for the American people,” said Congressman Aderholt. “Reckless spending and bloated budgets have no place in our government, and I remain committed to reining in unnecessary expenditures while supporting essential services that Americans rely on daily.”

Congressman Aderholt emphasized the need for responsible budgeting while avoiding the harmful consequences of a government shutdown.

“I will continue working with my colleagues to push for long-term, fiscally responsible solutions that rein in wasteful spending and put America on a sustainable path forward,” Aderholt added.

Congressman Aderholt also praised the leadership of Speaker Mike Johnson and President Trump in guiding this critical funding measure through the House. “Their steadfast leadership and commitment to conservative principles have been instrumental in keeping our government running while prioritizing the needs of hardworking Americans,” said Aderholt. “I urge the Senate to swiftly pass this resolution and ensure that the government remains funded without unnecessary delays.”

This funding bill is also crucial in giving President Trump the time and ability to focus on crafting his first budget for Fiscal Year 2026,” Aderholt continued. “If we continue to debate FY 2025 spending, it will only create further uncertainty and delay the work needed to set our country on a responsible fiscal path for the future.”
