Congressman Aderholt Votes to Advance House Republican Budget Resolution, Delivering on the Priorities of Alabama’s Fourth District

Washington, D.C. Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04) today issued the following statement after voting in favor of the House Republican budget resolution, a critical first step in advancing President Trump’s America First agenda.
“In November, more than 83% of voters in Alabama’s Fourth District cast their ballots for President Trump, making it clear that they wanted a return to strong, conservative leadership. They voted for secure borders, energy independence, economic prosperity, and a strong national defense. Today’s vote was the first procedural step toward delivering on those priorities.
Unfortunately, Democrats will misrepresent this vote to spread fear and confusion. The truth is that today’s budget resolution does not make a single policy change. It simply sets spending and revenue targets and instructs committees to draft legislation that will meet those targets through the reconciliation process. This is where the real work of shaping policy will happen.
With Republicans in control of the House, Senate, and White House, we have a historic opportunity to undo the damage of the past four years and put America back on the right track. I am proud to stand with my colleagues in support of this resolution, and I will continue to fight for the values and priorities of the people of Alabama’s Fourth District.”
