Congressman Aderholt Announces 4th District Art Competition Winners
For Immediate Release: April 6, 2021
Russellville, Ala. — Today, Congressman Robert Aderholt (AL-04) released the following statement after an awards ceremony was held in Russellville, Alabama to announce the winners of the 4th Congressional District Art Competition.
“I’m proud to announce that Kennedy Copeland, an 11th grader at Arab High School, won this year’s 4th Congressional District Art Competition’s Best of Show. Her piece will hang in the U.S. Capitol for the next year. She will also go to Washington this summer for the national ceremony. She also received a $12,000 scholarship to the Savannah School of Art and Design.”
“Kennedy’s piece, titled American Nightmare, depicts an elderly person wearing a mask. She skillfully captured the weariness I think we have all experienced this past year, but especially our older population. Kennedy’s piece, and the winners of all of the categories did a remarkable job. I envy their talent and always look forward to seeing their creations.”
