Aderholt Announces Cullman WX Radio Station Back Online

February 27, 2024

WASHINGTON - Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-AL) announced this afternoon that the Cullman NWS WX radio station is now back online.

“Last week, it was brought to my attention by several constituents that the Cullman WX radio station, WWF66, 162.450mhz, was not transmitting, and had not been for some time. My staff and reached out to weather service officials to get more details and to make them aware of how important it was to get this station back up and working.

“I’m happy to report that this afternoon, the weather service informed us that the station is now back up and operating. I want to thank everyone at the weather service, particularly in the Huntsville and Birmingham offices, for their diligence and concern with this matter. The meteorologists at the National Weather Service do not get the credit they deserve for the lifesaving services they provide.

“This station, while based in Cullman, serves every surrounding county, and provides a critical link to making sure people get timely warnings during severe weather and other imminent dangers.”

NOTE:  The weather service website, as of this release, has not yet been updated to reflect that the station is now back online.
