Tuesday, Nov. 8th :
Wounded Warriors - Westin Huntsville - 1:15pm, 4:00pm, 4:30pm
The public is welcome to come to the front of the hotel to welcome the heroes to Huntsville.
Wreathes for Veterans – volunteers will be preparing the wreaths at 9:30am at the Veteran’s Museum on 2060 Airport Road. Wreathes will be placed at Maple Hill Cemetery of Wednesday, Nov. 16th and at Valhalla Cemetery on Thursday, Nov. 17th
Alabama A&M 6th Annual Veterans Day Program – Noon – Clyde Foster Auditorium of the College of Business and Public Affairs – keynote speaker Colonel Michael J Coleman of Montgomery (1975 AAMU graduate).
Wednesday, Nov. 9th :
Hall of Heroes - Lynn Fanning Elementary School will be hosting its first Veteran's Day program on November 9 beginning at 1:00 with a tour of our Hall of Heroes. They have collected more than 100 portraits of veterans that are affiliated with the school. At 1:30 there will be have a ceremony and a balloon release.
Thursday , Nov. 10th:
Veterans Day Luncheon, VBC, North Hall - Huntsville. Honored Guests: General Ann Dunwoody, Major General James Rogers, Lieutenant General Richard Formica 11:30 a.m.
A Veterans Day Parade will be held in Russellville, AL at 4:00 p.m. with a program following at the AW Todd Center.
Veteran Hubert Downer will be one of many on hand Nov. 10 for the Veterans Day Celebration at Fort Payne High School, sponsored by the DeKalb County Council on Aging. The program starts at 9:00a.m.. A Veterans Day feast will follow in the lunchroom. The program will feature patriotic music from the Fort Payne High School chorus and the JROTC will present the colors and flags from each branch of the U.S. military.
Friday, Nov. 11th :
The new Veterans Memorial on Monroe St. in Huntsville will be formally opened to the public at 9:30 a.m. with a special ribbon cutting ceremony. The event is followed by the annual Huntsville Veterans Day parade through downtown.
Veterans Day Program at the Floyd “Tut” Fann State Veterans Home, Huntsville, AL. Guest speaker will be U.S. Congressman Robert Aderholt.
Veterans Day Ceremony – Albertville at Graham Park – behind Albertville Library (200 Jackson Street)
Decatur Veterans Day parade begins at 9:00 a.m. on 2nd Street.
Hartsville Veterans Day parade begins at 11:30am at Main Street & Railroad Street
