MilAz.info | July 7, 2012

Riccardo Migliori, a member of Italy’s Chamber of Deputies, today became the first Italian elected president of the 56-country Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe Parliamentary Assembly. I am honored to have the trust of my colleagues and look forward to working with delegations across our region to tangibly strengthen our commitments to human rights, military co-operation, and economic and environmental protection," said Migliori, who previously served as vice-president and two terms as rapporteur of the Committee on Political Affairs and Security. The Annual Session concluded with the election of Riccardo Migliori as president – the first Italian parliamentarian to hold the Assembly’s top office.
Members also elected five vice-presidents to fill vacancies or expired terms: Robert Aderholt (United States), Jean-Charles Gardetto (Monaco), Alain Neri (France), George Tsereteli (Georgia), and Uta Zapf (Germany).
