The Gadsden Times | November 19, 2011

Etowah County: Gadsden, Rainbow City, Southside, Hokes Bluff, Glencoe, Sardis, Altoona, Walnut Grove, Attalla and Reece City offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

Marshall County: Albertville and Douglas offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Boaz offices will be closed Thursday.

St. Clair County: Ashville and Steele offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

DeKalb County: Fort Payne, Crossville, Collinsville and Rainsville offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. Geraldine and Fyffe offices will be closed Thursday.

Cherokee County: Centre, Cedar Bluff and Leesburg offices will be closed Thursday and Friday.

COUNTY OFFICES

County offices in Etowah, DeKalb, Marshall and Cherokee will be closed Thursday and Friday.

STATE OFFICES

Most state offices will be closed Thursday and Friday. The Alabama Beverage Control Board stores will be closed Thursday.

FEDERAL OFFICES

Most offices in the federal building will be closed Thursday and Friday. Congressman Robert Aderholt’s office will be closed a half-day on Wednesday and all day Thursday and Friday. The U.S. Army office will be closed Thursday through Sunday. Post offices will be closed Thursday.

SCHOOLS

Gadsden City, Attalla City, Etowah County, Albertville City and Cherokee County schools will be closed Nov. 21-25.

Boaz City, Fort Payne City and DeKalb County schools will be closed Nov. 23-25.

Marshall County Schools will be closed Nov. 24 and 25.

Gadsden StateCommunity College will not have classes Nov. 21-27.

Northeast Alabama Community College will not have classes Nov. 21-25.

Snead State Community College, Jacksonville State University and University of Alabama-Gadsden will not have classes Nov. 23-25.

FINANCIAL

INSTITUTIONS

Most financial institutions in Etowah, Marshall, Cherokee and DeKalb counties will be closed Thursday. Horizon Bank in DeKalb County will be closed at 2 p.m. Wednesday and all day Thursday. Alabama Teachers Credit Union and Community Credit Union in Etowah County will be closed Thursday and Friday. Family Savings Federal Credit Union in Etowah County will have tellers and drive-thru open until 4 p.m. on Wednesday and will be closed all day Thursday and Friday; the Rainbow City branch will be open Saturday.

NEWSPAPER

The Gadsden Times’ newspaper offices will be closed Thursday.

GARBAGE PICKUP

Etowah County and most municipalities will have Thursday routes collected Friday and Friday routes collected Saturday. Exceptions are:

• Gadsden: Thursday’s route will be collected Wednesday.

• Rainbow City: Thursday’s route will be collected Wednesday. Friday’s route will be collected Monday.

• Hokes Bluff, Glencoe, Walnut Grove and Attalla: Regular schedule.

Marshall County and most municipalities will have regular schedules.

• Albertville: Collection delayed one day.

St. Clair County and most municipalities will have Thursday routes collected Friday and Friday routes collected Saturday. Exceptions are:

• Steele: Regular schedule.

DeKalb County and most municipalities will have regular schedules. Exceptions are:

• Rainsville and Fyffe: Thursday’s route will be collected Wednesday. Friday’s route will be collected Monday.

Cherokee County and Leesburg will be delayed one day.

• Centre: Thursday’s route will be collected Friday.

• Cedar Bluff: Friday’s route will be collected Wednesday, Nov. 23.
